Mark Cline is a Minnesota-based photographer with primary interests in landscapes, nature, travel, and fine art nudes.

Mark's statement regarding his work:

"I played with photography many years ago, using an old Pentax K1000 film camera. I had no training whatsoever (and my work no doubt reflected this), but do truly value what I had to learn by using a camera with no automatic settings. After a several years hiatus from shooting, I received a full-frame DSLR as a gift around the same time as a personal tragedy, and have found shooting and learning from others to be extremely therapeutic. This time around, I have tried to avail myself of expertise from others, ranging from peers to guides that I hire on travels, to workshops that include internationally known photographers. I am happiest when I have a camera in my hand, am learning from a master, discussing photography with other artists, or helping a novice get started.

My goal is always, of course, to create a beautiful image, and, hopefully, instill the viewer with the same sense of wonder and excitement that I had when capturing the image. This is probably the primary goal of most landscape & wildlife photographers. However, when I shoot something abstract, or any of my 'landscape nude' images, I am often trying to tell a story with my images, or look at something from a unique perspective. To me, the utmost compliment is when I see someone stop and think while viewing one of my images. Their interpretation is often different than mine, but if I've touched them in any way, the image is, to my mind, a success..."

I spend my free time sailing and kayaking on Lake Superior, biking, hiking, skiing, and snow shoeing, which is why nature is so large a part of my photography.
